On 5th July, Shen Jai Confucius Institute holds a special lecture titled “The Great Beauty of Sanqin: Shaanxi Folk Customs and Folk Culture”. This lecture specially invited Professor LU Zhaoyang from Xidian University in Xi’an, China to be the keynote speaker.
Starting from the origin of the name of Shaanxi, history of Sanqin, environment, climate and characteristics of folk customs, Professor LU vividly depicts the important position and profound cultural deposits that Xi’an (Chang’an), and even Shaanxi hold in Chinese civilization. He also leads everyone to jointly appreciate the folk songs of northern Shaanxi, storytelling, Qinqiang Opera known as the “ancestor of all operas”, Laoqiang Opera, and the intangible cultural heritage “shadow puppetry”.
深斋孔子学院于7月举办了一场题为“大美三秦——陕西民俗与民间文化漫谈”的专题讲座。本次讲座特别邀请了来自中国西安电子科技大学的卢朝阳教授主讲。
卢教授从陕西的地名来源、三秦历史、环境气候和民俗特点出发，生动地描述了西安（长安）乃至陕西在中华文明中的重要地位和具有的深厚文化底蕴。他还带领现场观众共同欣赏了陕北民歌、说书、“百戏之祖”——秦腔、老腔以及非遗项目皮影戏。
