On January 24, Shen Jai Confucius Institute held the “Welcoming the Spring Festival with Paper Cutting” themed event to inherit and promote traditional Chinese culture and create a festive atmosphere. The event began with the legend of “Nian” to explain Chinese New Year customs, followed by an introduction to traditional food and practices during the Spring Festival, such as rice cakes, dumplings, and New Year greetings. Under the guidance of the instructor, participants experienced the art of paper cutting and made window decorations to enhance the festive spirit. The event promoted cultural exchange between China and Malaysia, deepening the understanding and recognition of the Chinese New Year traditions among people of various ethnic groups in Malaysia, while conveying New Year blessings and good wishes.
